Kurt Neumann's classic horror film, scripted by best-selling author James Clavell, stars Patricia Owens as Helene Delambre who recounts, in flashback, the story of why she brought down a hydraulic press on the head and arm of her scientist husband Andre. As she tells her brother-in-law Francois and police Inspector Charas of the matter-transference device Andre had invented and the terrible accident that befell him, the horror mounts, with an ending that is one of cinema's most terrifying climaxes.
