Remake of the classic adventure tale of romance and revenge. A handsome sailor is unjustly accused of being a political traitor, betrayed by his best friend over a girl and imprisoned for 13 years in a rat-infested fortress. When he finally makes good his escape, the determined man plans to exact sweet revenge on his persecutors. Based on the novel Le Comte de Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.
