This adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel, released in 2005, works reasonably well. The story begins when four siblings - Edmund (Skandar Keynes), Lucy (Georgie Henley), Peter (William Moseley, pictured), and Susan (Anna Popplewell) are evacuated during the Second World War to the country estate of an eccentric professor.

During a game of hide and seek the Pevensie children find a wardrobe that leads to a fantasy world. Narnia is a fairy-tale realm of magical proportions, where woodland animals talk and mythological creatures roam the hills. The land is ruled over by the wise and mysticallion god Aslan (voiced by Liam Neeson), but sadly, the world is also in a state of perpetual winter.

Aided by Narnia's rightful leader, Aslan, the children discover their strengths and weaknesses as they lead Narnia into a spectacular battle, but one of them, seduced by the charisma of the white witch, may choose to fight on the wrong side.

Recommended.
