Tender Mercies is a compassionate love story tracing the relationship between a down and out singer and the young widow he meets in a small Texas town. Robert Duvall stars as MacSledge a man torn between the healing powers of love and the conflicts of his past life as an alcoholic music star. Mac's love for his new wife Rosa Lee is tested by the temptations of renewed fame and the intervention of his bitter ex-wife, Dixie.
