U Burt Kennedy's amiable comedy-western stars James Garner as Latigo Smith, a conman who arrives in a remote gold-mining town controlled by two rival factions and is mistakenly identified as a fearsome gunslinger. The deception works in his favour, until Swifty Morgan, the real fighter rolls into town. Co-starring Suzanne Pleshette and Joan Blondell.
