This fairytale adventure, set in Victorian England, has family appeal. To prove his love for village lass Victoria (Sienna Miller), Tristan (Charlie Cox, pictured) promises to cross through a forbidden wall to retrieve a shooting star.

His first surprise is that the star is actually a beautiful (if grumpy) girl called Yvaine (Claire Danes, pictured). The second is that he's got competition for the prize from a power-hungry prince (Mark Strong) and an ever-aging witch (Michelle Pfeiffer) who needs Yvaine's heart for eternal
youth.

It's a little patchy, but reasonable fun, nonetheless. Robert De Niro plays a swashbuckling sky captain and look out for a cameo from Ricky Gervais.
