Snakes on a Plane (2006)Written by John Heffernan, Sebastian GutierrezDirected by David R. EllisRunning Time: 102 minutes (approx)Production Year: 2006Rating: 15 CertificateProduction Country: USAFilmed in ColourOne of the more bizarre events in cinematic history, Snakes on a Plane has become a legend in its own airspace. People loved the film's simplistic title, generating a phenomenal buzz about the movie on the net, even before it was completed. Enthusiastic blogs and fan-sites sprung up, devoted to documenting the film, suggesting plot developments and even script changes. The power of the net was so strong that New Line Cinema eventually ordered five days of re-shoots to incorporate some of the fans' suggestions, including the immortal line uttered by its star Samuel L. Jackson: "I've had it with these motherf***ing snakes on this motherf***ing plane!" Frankly, despite all the fans' changes and Jackson's deft declaration, it's still not a great film, but does exactly what it says on the tin. A witness who needs to give evidence in a murder trial is being escorted on a plane by FBI agent Neville Flynn (Jackson). Unbeknown to them, a crimelord has hidden a crate of venomous snakes on board the plane, covered with a pheromone that makes the reptiles especially aggressive. The crate has a time-release mechanism, and the snakes are set to take down the aircraft before it reaches its destination... When is Snakes on a Plane next on TV?
