This witty and innovative film is Spike Lee's directorial debut.

The story follows the highly complex love life of Brooklyn's Nola Darling (Tracy Camilla Johns) a young black woman whose candid attitude towards sex has enabled her to run concurrent relationships with no less than three men:

Jamie Overstreet (Tommy Redmond Hicks) is the controlling & protective type. Greer Childs (John Canada Terrell) is a wealthy, vain and extremely arrogant male model and finally there's Mars Blackmon (Spike Lee) who's the funny, juvenile prankster

It seems that Nola has got the perfect arrangement, until her "male harem" begin to resent sharing her and so they force her to make her choice, but who will be the lucky man.
