In the near future, reality TV will have reached the extreme - The Contenders sees six contestants, chosen by chance and with no right of appeal, sent out to kill each other with the last one standing the winner. As it goes into its latest series, Dawn is the heavily pregnant defending champion facing five new contestants including her ex-lover Glenn Fitzgerald, who's dying of cancer. The game's on and the cameras are following each of them in Daniel Minahan's slick, stinging feature debut.
