Notable adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy about a pair of star-crossed young lovers. Daringly cast - the actors that play the lovers are 17 and 15, only slightly older than their characters - and shot in Tuscany, the film won Oscars for photography and costumes, and was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director. Nino Rota's haunting music includes the popular song 'What Is Youth?'
