Roman Polanski's first film in English is also possibly his most complete and certainly one of the most affecting horror films ever made. Catherine Deneuve is a shy young seamstress who lives with her sister in London. But when the sister and boyfriend leave her alone for a short holiday, all her repressed fears and emotions rise to the surface.
