Released in 1948, Howard Hawks's epic western is often seen as a reworking of Mutiny on the Bounty. John Wayne (pictured, left) stars as Tom Dunson, owner of a vast Texan cattle empire, with Montgomery Clift (pictured, right) making his debut as his adopted son who rebels against his tyrannical guardian during a crucial cattle drive.
