Ex-con H.I. (Nicolas Cage) falls for pretty cop Ed (Holly Hunter) who takes his mug shots every time he's arrested for his convenience-store theft habit. The pair happily shack up, but it turns out Ed is unable to conceive a baby to complete their bliss.

The solution? Kidnap one of the quintuplets recently born to local furniture mogul Nathan Arizona (Trey Wilson), of course. But Arizona won't let his kid go without a fight, and hires a bounty hunter calling himself the Lone Biker Of The Apocalypse to chase down H.I. and the stolen rugrat.

Raising Arizona is a fast-paced, twisting, turning farce fest that showed that directors the Coen brothers were as adept at comedy as they were at the dark thrills of their debut Blood Simple. Nicolas Cage shows a surprising aptitude for slapstick, while Holly Hunter is equally brilliant. Well worth watching.
