Filmed in Colour

This film is about the notorious French writer who dedicated his time writing books about sexual situations, Marquis de Sade (Geoffrey Rush).

Locked in an asylum he enlists the help of his laundress, Madeline LeCrec (Kate Winslet) to smuggle his last writings out of the building.

Although a fictionalized account of the Marquis' last years, this is moderately faithful to the historical record.
