Martha Fiennes' directorial debut, based on Pushkin's poem, stars her brother Ralph as Evgeny Onegin, an aristocrat who inherits his uncle's country estate. Spurning the attentions of Tatyana Larina, he pursues the married Olga Larina, leading to a fatal duel with her husband and Onegin's exile. Returning after six years, he again meets Tatyana, but this time the tables are turned and he must pay for his heartless treatment of her.
