George Clooney returns as Danny Ocean in the third of the crime comedies, released in 2007. When their old pal Reuben (Elliott Gould) has a heart attack after being double-crossed by scheming businessman Willie Bank (Al Pacino), Danny Ocean's team of gifted grifters reunite to get their own back.

The plan is simple: rig the gaming tables in Bank's new carpet joint to pay out, and then close the casino so that punters take their money home. Bank will lose millions, the board will dismiss him and the coveted Five Diamond Award will go to another casino. All they have to do is get past a state-of-the-art security system and simulate an earthquake using a tunnel maker. Easy.

After the painfully drawn-out Euro jaunt that was Ocean's Twelve, Steven Soderbergh works hard to regain the simple silliness of an Ocean heist by returning to the site of their original con, Las Vegas. Gone is the unattractive lust for loot that marred the second film's plot, and in its place is an unfussy get-the-bad-guy premise that allows (pictured from left) Matt Damon, Clooney and Brad Pitt to make the most of Brian Koppelman and David Levien's slick script. Worth a look.
