This exciting adventure yarn traces the dramatic events that force widowed rancher Claire McNichol and her teenage son Jesse to evaluate their relationship with the wild. Now managing the ranch alone, except for the loyal assistance of her foreman Purly, Claire is contemplating selling up and moving to San Francisco so that Jesse may have a better life. But when Claire finds herself stranded in the wilderness, her only companion is a wild, lone wolf. Together, woman and beast form an unlikely alliance as she struggles to survive - and as Jesse embarks on a desperate search for his mother before time runs out.
