Comedy drama centred on a weekend in Nashville during the launch of a new political party, to be marked by a star-studded country music extravaganza. The Replacement Party's organisers have brought together a bizarre array of musicians and showbiz people, all of them with distinct problems and hang-ups. A resounding statement about show business and politics emerges from the combined weight of the stories of 24 characters.
