Newly-qualified lawyer Vincent La Guardia Gambini - Vinny to his friends - gets his first case defending two New York college guys, one of whom is his cousin, who are wrongly accused of murder in deepest Alabama. There's just one problem - he's never been in a courtroom, let alone conducted a defence. But, with the help of his girlfriend, he proves that sometimes streetwise cunning can overcome smart legal brains in Jonathan Lynn's courtroom comedy.
