Rosalind Russell plays Mrs Emily Pollifax, a woman of a certain age whose children are all grown up and whose husband has died. How better to fill the empty hours than by volunteering her services as a spy for the CIA? Since she neither looks nor acts like a spy, she's perfect and is assigned the task of picking up a microfilm from Mexico City. But things don't go to plan and she finds herself on a plane bound for an Albanian prison, handcuffed to a handsome stranger. Can she get both of them out of this perilous situation? Leslie H Martinson's film was the last Russell - best known for the comedy His Girl Friday - was to make, but her comedic skills and timing still shine through in this enjoyable comedy adventure. Edited for language.
