Thrilling crime story set in Las Vegas about down-on-his-luck Vietnam veteran Johnny Tobin (Roy Scheider), whose prostitute lover talks him into helping her when she finds half a million dollars on a client who has died of a heart attack in her arms. When the odd couple decide to keep the money, they get into all sorts of trouble as the Mob is after them to get the money back. Will this gamble of a lifetime prove to be deadly for both of them in the end?
