Vintage British drama, directed by Sidney Gilliat and Frank Launder, about the fortunes of a family who are split up during World War II, concentrating on Celia Crowson, who gives up her middle-class life to work in a munitions factory and who falls in love with airman Fred Blake. And to show the British pluck, Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne reprise Charters and Caldicott from Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes.
