In Meet the Parents Dina Byrnes (Blythe Danner) wonders about the parents of her new son-in-law to be - what kind of people are they?

Unfortunately (for her and her ex-CIA husband Jack, played by Robert de Niro) she's about to find out what they're like, when the in laws meet prior to the wedding.

So far Greg (Ben Stiller) has been getting on well with his new father-in-law, but meeting the Fockers is a disaster. The very straight, middle class couple are horrified by the crazy ideas of the very liberal Bernie (Dustin Hoffman) and sex therapist Roz (Barbra Streisand)

Meanwhile the happy couple (Ben Stiller and Teri Polo) are becoming less happy by the second as their lives disintegrate around them.
