Compelling drama which intersperses real footage with fictional scenes to portray the events surrounding the notorious 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. As violence erupts between anti-Vietnam War protesters and the authorities, a TV cameraman gradually metamorphoses from uninvolved observer to shocked participant. The title puns critic Marshall McLuhan's dictum that television is a 'cool medium'.
