Infamous for the terrifying torture scene in the dentist's chair, this ingenious John Schlesinger thriller, based on the novel by William Goldman, stars a young Dustin Hoffman as the marathon runner who becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue involving Nazi war criminals.

Laurence Olivier chills as the war criminal on the run who repeatedly quizzes a terrified Hoffman "Is it safe?". Visits to the dentist will never be the same again...
