Comic road movie about a man who inherits a performing elephant from his late clown father. Disgruntled with his nose-diving career, a motivational speaker is shocked to hear that his father has died and bequeathed him an elephant named Vera. He has to escort the creature across America by train, truck and foot while he decides to sell her either to a pleasant animal researcher or a ruthless circus entrepreneur.
