Adaptation of the novel by Mary Elizabeth Braddon, following the misadventures of a beautiful but amoral woman. Lucy Graham has just married a rich aristocrat 30 years her senior, and his nephew Robert soon finds himself attracted to her. However, he quickly begins to suspect that she played a part in the disappearance of his old schoolfriend.
