Adapted from an Avery Corman novel, this film has won many awards, like best picture, actor, screenplay, director, and supporting actress, and with its great acting and storyline, it's no wonder the film is 1979 classic.

Ted Kramer is an original career man, who leaves his wife at home to deal with the womanly chores, however, wife Joanna can't take any more and walks out on Ted and their son Billy.

Ted however adapts to the role of househusband quite well. It takes him a long time to get use to taking care of himself, the house, and Billy all at once though.

Ted becomes use to his new role and fits comfortably into that way of life, but then disruption happens. Joanna resurfaces and wants Billy back. Ted however refuses to give him up, so they go to court to fight for the custody of their son.

The film revolves around how the two fight for custody, and how Ted learns to adjust and cope with his new found life.
