Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950)
Running Time: 102 minutes (approx)Production Year: 1950Rating: 12 CertificateFilmed in Black and WhiteJames Cagney stars in Gordon Douglas's film noir as Ralph Cotter, a violent career criminal. The film begins with him breaking out of prison and, once back on the streets, taking revenge on his partner who grassed him up, then romancing his ex-partner's sister. Thanks to two corrupt cops, he is soon back on top of the world. Cagney's character was designed to cash in on the success of White Heat the previous year and, if not reaching the heights of Raoul Walsh's film, it is still a worthy addition to the genre. Look out for Cagney's brother William who, as well as producing the film, plays Cotter's brother.
