Based on the true events of the shocking kidnap of a 14-year old girl from her home in Salt Lake City, a story that captivated a whole nation. As a family is thrown into turmoil and the search for Elizabeth Smart begins, Ed and Lois confront the nightmare of being the parents of a vanished child. But what no-one figures out is that Elizabeth is hidden in plain sight, only miles away, the victim of a self-proclaimed man of God. Newly christened Augustine, Elizabeth has been taken as a plural wife. She's veiled, threatened, lives hand-to-mouth with her new 'family' and is boldly paraded in the streets. Yet no-one recognises the most famous missing person in the country.
