Tommy Collins (Pauly Shore) is unemployed and struggling to make ends meet. However he soon learns that sequestered jurors get free room and board in a plush hotel AND $5.00 a day throughout the length of the trial. He soon realises that this would solve his rent problems for a while and gets himself assigned to the jury of a murder trial.

Once in the court Tommy pulls out all the stops and tries absolutely everything he can to prolong the trial, the jury's deliberations and make the sequestration more comfortable for himself.
