Terry Dolittle (Whoppi Goldberg) works for a bank as a computer operator. She hates this job, shes always late, doesn't give two hoots whether she upsets her manager or not and generally causes trouble (in whoopie's hilarious way!)

However, one day she gets a strange message from an unknown source. The message is coded. After decoding the message, she realises that it has been sent from a British Intelligence office.

Needless to say, she sets off to rescue him from behind the Iron Curtain...... Terry becomes embroiled in an espionage ring. People are killed, and Terry is chased.

Throughout she remains in contact with this unknown person, who needs Terry to help save his life.
