Larry Parks stars as the titular Al Jolson in Henry Levin's Oscar-nominated musical. The film follows Jolson from the pre-war years when, disillusioned with success, he travelled the world in the company of beautiful women through his period during the war entertaining the troops to his almost-fatal illness, recuperation and marriage to his nurse Ellen Clark and his eventual return to fame through a bio-pic, where he'll be portrayed by an up-and-coming young actor called Larry Parks! Songs include After You've Gone, Give My Regards to Broadway and, of course, Mammy which are actually sung by Jolson himself.
