This disease has caused a series of horrible deaths every 30 years, a disease that only children fall victim to, through its guise as the manipulative clown. All the adults act like 'It' doesn't happen even though they know that the evil exists. After a series of murders, Mike Hanlon (Tim Reid) begins to call his friends to remind them of the oath they swore - "If 'It' returned they would reunite in Derry to do battle again".
