This 2006 crime thriller, superbly directed by Spike Lee, is a slick and powerful heist movie with a myriad of twists and turns, pumped up by some dynamic visuals.

When a bank heist accelerates into a hostage situation, savvy New York detective Keith Frazier (Denzel Washington) embarks on a battle of wits with cunning crook Dalton Russell (Clive Owen - pictured).

However, when the bank's powerful owner sends in "fixer" Madeline White (Jodie Foster) to protect secrets within the vault, events spiral out of control. Or is it all part of Russell's master plan?

In a world where the bad guys are the good guys and everyone knows more than they're telling, the film's twisting and turning plot keeps you - and even some of the protagonists - guessing.

Recommended.
