This 1997 horror thriller from the writer of Scream is about a group of four good-looking teenagers, Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt), Helen Shivers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Barry Cox (Ryan Phillippe) and Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr) who are plunged into a nightmare when they accidentally kill a fisherman on a trip away.

Deciding to conceal the crime and dump the body in the sea, the four friends spend the next year worrying about their actions - and their fears seem to be justified when one of them receives an anonymous letter bearing the words 'I know what you did last summer'.

Someone, it seems, is aware of their secret and is going to make sure that all four of them pay the ultimate price for what they have done.
