From their childhood together Hilary (Rachel Griffiths) was the talented musician playing the Flute. She was constantly in demand for her talent and Jacqueline, at the time pailed into the distance. However when their mother, Iris (Celia Imrie) scolded a young Jacqueline by telling her that the only way she can spend time with her sister is if she becomes as talented as her, and this was the start of it all! At her debut performance at Wigmore Hall she was presented the Stradivarius Davidoff by an unknown benefactor. Following a wedding appearance in Italy the lives of Hilary and Jacqueline separated as Hilary returned to London and her flute studies whilst Jacqueline embarked on her international concert career. In London Hilary married Kiffer Finzi (David Morrissey) and started a family whilst Jacqueline met and married the renowned pianist and conductor, Daniel Barenboim (James Frain). What begins as a success story; two gifted musicians in love, turns to tragedy when Jaqueline is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Cast
