From Takeshi Miike, director of Audition, comes this re-make of the 1975 gangster classic with Goro Kishitani as a yakuza who saves a crime boss and is rewarded with a high position and finds love with Narimi Arimori, a nightclub hostess. But when he kills a loan welsher and is sent to prison, his rise to power on release is brutal until a misunderstanding over another loan sees both his kingdom and his love-life shattered.
