When super secret agency CONTROL is attacked by evil terrorist organisation KAOS, The Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to make bumbling analyst Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) a field agent. Smart is partnered with the beautiful but deadly Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway) and the duo are sent to bring down KAOS mastermind Siegfried (Terence Stamp). While 99 is initially frosty towards her hapless partner, the two soon begin to develop feelings for each other, putting their vital mission, and the fate of the free world, in danger.

Based on the beloved 60s TV show created by spoof master Mel Brooks, this manic movie version has all the daft props and silly gags that made the original such a hit. Carell and Hathaway might sound like an unlikely screen couple, but they make a surprisingly charming double act in this zany, energetic comedy that benefits from a great supporting cast, including Dwayne Johnson, Arkin and Borat star Ken Davitian.
