Based on the popular comic strip, Peter Hewitt's mix of live action and CGI sees Breckin Meyer star as Jon, the "primary care-giver" of Garfield, the large, slothful, cynical, lasagne-loving ginger cat. When Odie the dog is introduced to the household, Garfield swiftly manages to get rid of him to the dog pound but suffers a rare attack of conscience when Odie's the subject of humiliation by TV host Happy Chapman and sets out to rescue the mutt.
