It may be more than 50 years since it was released, but this classic musical comedy still feels incredibly fresh. Charming fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) spots model potential in sales girl Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn) while on a shoot in her book store. He manages to capture her unique look on film and shows her photo to the hotshot editor of a leading fashion magazine (Kay Thompson. Together they offer unassuming Jo a modelling contract. Persuaded by a free trip to Paris, Jo reluctantly agrees, and her disdain for the camera, and for Dick, start to melt away against the backdrop of the most romantic city in the world.

Director Stanley Donen was dubbed the "King of the Hollywood Musical" for a reason, and Funny Face added another classic to his already impressive repertoire (Singin' In The Rain and On The Town). Despite Fred Astaire being in his fifties, he is still every inch the lord of the dance, and it's not hard to believe that the younger Audrey Hepburn (who shows off the vocal talents here that were dubbed in My Fair Lady) could fall for his charms.
