Bob Rafelson's film stars Jack Nicholson as an oil rigger who's hiding his pressured past as a classical musician forced into complying with his musical family's wishes. And as the pressures start to grow once more, so Nicholson starts to drift again rather than be seen to accept any kind of consistency.
