FBI Special Agent Sean Archer (John Travolta) has been chasing the infamous terrorist Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage) for 6 years now trying to avenge the death of his son who died at the hands of Troy. He finally catches the fiend who is subsequently imprisoned.

In his latest mission, Archer must try and locate a biological warhead which has been placed somewhere in Los Angeles by the psychotic terrorist.

To enable Archer to trace the whereabouts of the weapon he must assume the identity of Troy through the procedure of removing Troy's face and implanting it onto his own via plastic surgery.

Things go well, the operation is a wonderful success and his vocal lessons have paid off no end, now all he must do is to infiltrate Troy's world and rid L.A of the biological threat that is hanging over it.

However things start to go awry when Troy, who was believed dead but merely in a coma, wakes up and does the same. Soon, they are pitted against one another.

Will Archer break free from his prison and get his face back, or will Troy have the last laugh?
