Assigned to bring in computer hacker Matt Farrell(Justin Long), NYPD detective John McClane (Bruce Willis) finds himself caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a set of cyber terrorists, led by Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant).

It's been almost 20 years since the first Die Hard was released, becoming a benchmark film of the action genre. Therefore the fourth instalment of the series had a lot to live up to.

Happily, Die Hard 4.0 does not disappoint. Though Willis has discarded his infamous wife-beating behaviour (and indeed his hair), he delivers a charismatic and energetic performance that shows that his action crown has not slipped. Director Len Wiseman delivers on the action front too, moving from one high-octane and innovative set-piece to the next (only McClane would think to use his car as a missile). A film that exceeds all expectations.
