Film student Jason Creed (Joshua Close) is DIY-ing together a horror film with his friends when news reports start to come in about the dead rising and attacking the living. Initially disbelieving, the group head towards their families, hoping to find them still alive. But the zombies are proliferating at an ever-increasing pace and the survivors are being picked off one by one. Is anywhere safe?

George A. Romero, the man who defined the zombie genre, returns to his Dead franchise with a new take on the monsters that made his name. Released in 2007 and shot in the handheld camera style of The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield, the audience is thrust into the action, seeing only what the survivors see, fleeing when they flee and falling when they fall.

In a market saturated with fresh young things, the veteran director proves he's more than got the guts to compete.
