Detroit Rock City is a film about four teenage boys growing up in the 1970's, who aren't too fond of disco music, but worship the rock-and-roll band KISS thirsting for a chance to see their heavy metal heroes.

The enthusiastic four consist of Hawk (Edward Furlong), Lex (Giuseppe Andrews), Trip (James DeBello) and Jam (Sam Huntington).

The dimwitted Trip wins a radio contest which provides him with tickets to their hero's latest concert, but forgets to leave his address, so when the foursome turn up at the radio station to collect their prize, they are turned away empty-handed and furious.

Each one of the friends go to a different length to get themself a ticket, from robbing minimarts to stripping in front of a hundred women.

The humour is aimed squarely at youthful sensibilities, with some slapstick, vomit gags, rock vs disco quips and several cracks at the Catholic Church.

This comedy may let fly at everything within reach, but it's got its heart in the right place, lots of charm and a kicking soundtrack.
