Rose Chismore thinks back to her youth, recalling the troubled family life based around her alcoholic step-father, her first romance with Robin and the visits of her mad aunt Starr. A strong cast includes Jon Voight and Ellen Barkin in a whimsical story which also touches on the nuclear testing of 1950s America.
