This twisting blackmail thriller, starring Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston, wasn't a critical or box-office success when it was released in 2005, but it cracks along at a reasonable pace with shades of Fatal Attraction.

On a commuter train into Chicago, advertising man Charles Schine (Owen) spots Lucinda. Charles used to be a teacher, until his daughter's medical bills forced him into taking less rewarding yet better paying job. He has a stressful career, a sick girl and a stale marriage to Deanna (Melissa George). Financial advisor Lucinda (Aniston) is independent, funny and sexy. After the introductions, a chat leads to dinner, a kiss and a cheap motel.

The affair takes a brutal twist when evil French thug LaRoche (Vincent Cassel) breaks in, rapes Lucinda, beats the life out of Charles and presents a blackmail plan in half a dozen expensive instalments...
