This highly tense, psychological sci-fi thriller has been based on the novel by Dean R. Koontz.

Scientist Alex Harris (Fritz Weaver) is currently researching artificial intelligence in his laboratory and is working on a highly advanced and intelligent computer. However when this machine gains more and more power it turns crazed.

Alex's wife Susan (Julie Christie) however gets caught up in the machines 'wirld' as the machine manages to impregnate her in order for her to become pregnant with it's hybrid genius baby.
