Also known as "Reindeer Games" this movie follows Rudy (Ben Affleck) who is a jailbird whose ex-casino worker cellmate, Nick (James Frain) has been passing his time exchanging letters with Ashley (Charlize Theron), his beautiful pen friend.

Unfortunately for Nick, he gets iced in a brawl, so when Rudy is released from jail, he looks up Ashley and claims he is Nick.

The two immediately fall for each other, but Ashley's brother Gabriel (Gary Sinese), has different plans for the young couple.

Gabriel wants Nick to use his know-how to help him and his pals to pull a heist on a casino. Problem is, Nick isn't Nick, he's Rudy, and he doesn't know anything about a casino, but to stay alive and keep the girl, he keeps having to lie to the dastardly Gabriel as the two have several melees where they lie to and threaten each other.
